Spinach - beneficial properties and

unusual taste

Most vegetables and green plants that are actively consumed by humans have a large supply of beneficial properties, vitamins and minerals, but spinach, which is not so popular in our country, can truly be called the king of leafy vegetables, as, by the way, and confidently believe in France.

Many French women are happy to use spinach juice to care for their skin, and a large number of dishes with its addition proves once again that spinach is really healthy and tasty vegetable.
It is believed that the birthplace of such a plant is Persia, from where it began to spread throughout the world from the end of the 6th century: in the Middle Ages it was sold in a fresh and boiled form, later small balls with sugar were made from it. Spinach arrived in Europe with the Moors, although it didnt immediately get its fans.

Over time, such a green plant, so outwardly similar to sorrel or lettuce, but different in taste and composition, spread throughout all the continents, it gained particular popularity in the United States.

Since ancient times, people have learned that spinach has a beneficial effect on the human body, they have made a good laxative from it, which was able to clear the stomach, as well as relieve general malaise and poor health.

In our country, spinach is not the most common plant, however, now, in the era of a popular healthy diet, it is rapidly acquiring a large number of fans who are familiar with its beneficial properties. Spinach is a plant that mainly grows in latitudes with a mild climate, for example, in Central Asia, the southern regions of Europe or Canada, but in greenhouse conditions it has been learned to grow almost all over the world.

Chic Salad

This green grass is easy to grow, even in normal home conditions, on your window sill. The plant is annual, usually not more than 3050 cm tall, has green, wrinkled and bulky leaves, although there are also bred varieties with smooth or mixed leaves that are well suited for freezing.

And although you can easily buy such a green vegetable in almost every supermarket or store, many gardeners are happy to grow it on their own plots, because spinach is an unpretentious plant.

Composition and useful properties

No wonder the French and Americans are so respectful to such a vegetable, because its composition really amazes with its variety of nutrients, minerals, vitamins and microelements that are easy to meet separately, but not in one single plant.

It is believed that if a healthy person eats 350 g of spinach a week, then he can provide himself with almost all the necessary elements for the health of his body, if, of course, there are any health problems, then it is better to increase the consumption of spinach, for example, 450 g per day.

It consists of: most of the B vitamins, vitamins A, E, C, H, PP, as well as important elements - iron, magnesium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, copper, manganese, sodium, selenium, zinc, as well as saturated, unsaturated and organic acids, starch, fiber, and other important compounds that are so beneficial to humans.

Due to such an extensive range of nutrients, spinach is also called a whisk for the body, because it is able to remove toxins, slags, help regulate the metabolism, which directly affects the general well-being and human health.

It is used to treat and prevent many diseases, so it perfectly strengthens the circulatory system, improves the functioning of the heart muscle, stimulates the activity of the intestine and pancreas, and also effectively affects tumors, which is why it is strongly recommended to be used in the treatment of radiation sickness.

Due to the high content of vitamins and minerals, spinach is recommended for use by women, children and teenagers, especially those who suffer from a weakened immune system, anemia or problems with the central nervous system.

Due to the content of iodine and iron, spinach has a beneficial effect on the thyroid gland, and lutein, also present in this green vegetable, can prevent diseases of the eye retina, and with regular use of spinach in food, it is possible to improve visual acuity. Fresh and raw spinach is considered the most useful, because it contains the maximum amount of all its usefulness, but it should be noted that during heat treatments, although some of them are lost, a significant number of important elements still remain.

More greens - more vitamins.

That's why Americans value canned spinach so that can be stored for a long time, they are suitable for long journeys or for those who do not stay in the stronghold of civilization for a long time, for example, sailors or military.

Due to its low calorie content, such a green plant is a great way to eat and lose weight. By eating a whole bowl of spinach salad, you will enrich your body with all the necessary microelements, vitamins and beneficial compounds that help with strict weight loss diets, but at the same time, do not put on a gram.

Spinach is not only healthy, but also delicious!

Having tried a raw leaf of spinach, it is difficult not to note its strange taste, one can say its absence, because by its nature it is a rather unpleasant vegetable. What can be prepared from a bland and tasteless product? It turns out that spinach is a versatile product that easily absorbs the tastes of other ingredients in a dish, thats why it is often mixed with sorrel or other green vegetables.

There is another great way: spinach will instantly sparkle with extraordinary taste paints, if you serve the dish with it with lemon dressing, which consists of a tablespoon of olive oil and tea lemon juice.

Many people prefer to use spinach in stewed form, there are quite a few recipes for such dishes, each one contains special ingredients or spices to add a special flavor. The only thing that should be remembered: such a vegetable is 90% water, so during the cooking process it is enough to cover it with a lid;

Lovely grass

A large number of dishes can be made from spinach: stuffed pies, soups, side dishes, salads, snacks, desserts, and even very healthy drinks! As you can see, the choice is wide, why not diversify your menu with such a useful novelty?

It is important to remember that spinach has some contraindications for use: for example, it is not recommended for people who suffer from urolithiasis, nor should it be added to food for those who have kidney disease, liver disease, as well as chronic hypertension.
